Other Important Information
Always bring warm clothes with you even in the summer season for the
temperature in Tibet varies a lot in the day and night time. Light
clothing for daytime and comfortable walking shoes is recommended.
We recommend one down jacket, one warm thick pull-over, one thin pull-over,
two warm pants, two light loose cotton pants, one warm windproof cotton
jacket, four cotton sleeve T-shirts, two thermal under pants, two
thermal vests, one rain coat, one pair each of light tennis shoes
& light rubber sandal, six pairs of warm woolen socks, one light
cotton or silk scarf, one large cotton or silk scarf, one pair of
warm gloves, soft paper tissues, monkey cap & sun hat, two towels,
Wind - Rain Jacket, sun hat, sun glass, sun cream, chap stick.
TRANSPORT:
Kathmandu to Kodari by private mini bus. Kodari to Zhangmu by truck.
After that 4 wheel driven Japanese Land Cruisers. Supporting trucks
will carry your luggage and camping stuff.
STAFF:
Sherpas from Kathmandu, who are capable to work & cook on high
altitudes will be accompanying the group. They will be in charge of
setting tents during Kora.
GUIDE/ESCORT:
Chinese English speaking guide will escort the group throughout along
with a tour leader from Kathmandu.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Still cameras and Video cameras are allowed.
CURRENCY:
The basic unit of the Chinese Currency Renmimbi (RMB) or the 'people's
money in know as the Yuan. It comes in Paper notes issued in denominations
of one, two, five, ten, fifty and hundred Yuan. * Travellers Cheques
& Credit Card can be used in Nepal only. * Indian Currency (Except
Rs.500 & Rs.1000 currency notes).
CLIMATE :
You can travel to Tibet/Mt. Kailash -Mansarover from April to September
but mid July to the end of September is the best period. There may
be some intermittent rain, more so during this period with July -
August being the wettest. These rains do not really hamper the overall
